    Thanks for sharing Bill.
2.35kg w/o the camera is on the heavy side! What motors / props do you have on your cs8?

Just small clip of a very first flight test with my converted cinestar gimbal, pan axis not stablilized yet but will add that next. Wind was gusting at 12m/s and i can only say that no usable footage (without heavy heavy stabilizing) could be done in those conditions with servo/radian setup. Now it is maybe 95% all usable straight out of camera, just some twitching when whole gimbal jumps in wind but i have better solution for vibration dampening waiting on my desk. Camera used in this was GH3 with 12-35/2.8 and motors are 4008 at the moment which seems to have well enough torque for this size camera. Still waiting for 4115 motors so i can go to bigger camera, but really happy with the results so far. No jitters, just silky smooth and locked roll and tilt when watching at 100%. Sorry about the super boring video but you get the point ;)

    Hi Bill,

We are working on a completely new direct fit two axis DD mount for our CS3 mount, two 5208 on roll and two 5208 on tilt, maybe later
we will also mount one 5208 on the pan in combination with the belt gear.

    ok thats looking good:)
is it the alexmos controller you also use?
how does it work with two motors on roll and tilt ,do you have to do something spesial,?

    Thanks :)

    Yes two Alexmos boards.

With two motors you need something to be able to align the magnetic fields, advance is also that you are able
to set the motors so that the cogging disappears, very handy for balancing the camera.

Interesting. How do you align the magnetic fields? How can you be sure that the motors are not "fighting" each other? (due to lag, latency etc.)

Yes, what Jim said. I would think the Alexmos boards and BL motors would beed to have absolutely identical performance or else, like jim said, they will fight one another. Any footage with a dslr fitted with a lens without stabilization? I'm interested in this setup.

I'm building a 3 axis gimbal from scratch I just received my two Alexmos boards and three 5208 motors. I have no idea what type of battery to use. I don't want to burn anything up. can someone please help me.
    thank you

Welcome to the forum. Everybody uses 3S or 4S. If you change batteries you have to reset your PID settings.
The board is good for 20+ volts.
    I use 5S.

Sorry my fault, should be visible now. And once again, sorry for super boring test video subject, i'll post something more interesting when i just have time for more testing ;)

I used 2S lipo and it works very well for me with GH3 and quite small 4008 motors, motors and board running cool and just enough torque. Tried with 3S and 4S but couldn't get rid of small jitter in tilt yet. I also used some clip on ferrite rings in motor wires close to controller board. I'll try 4115 motors with belt reduction and 4S battery next with much heavier camera. I think i need to order a pile of mxl pulleys to find the optimal speed/torque relation for these motors.

[IMG]i am new to this forum and have some trouble with the 4114 motor to get it stable.
this is the set up see photo.

i made this setup my self.
the fist test was with the 5010 motors bus was not strong to hold the canon 7d 1.6 kilo so i used the 4114 motors but the are not strong enough. to .
how to get a good setup fore this camera.[IMG]
