Wow... i got back to the forum after a long time.. .and the discussion on brushless is super.
Its really super the way u guys r advancing into it
and it looks the bug has bitten me also.
    wondering where to start...
cause i have to lift a Canon 7D and 5D and with the lens i use 17-40 L that total wt comes to 1.5kg
camera body is 1 kg and lens is .5 kg
but the way the discussion is going,
it appears the camera + lens wt should be around 1 kg.
Someone also said that a gust of wind could upset the gimbal system
BUT then what about the down wash of 6/8 props.
cause along the line someone told me that my videos were shaky cause of the storm created by the props.
So i am hoping someone make a good break through for a wt of 1.5 kg
although i am dying to jump into it
which will mean replacing the 17-40 with a prime of say 40mm
and it has to be normal lens.
as soon as the L is added the weight goes back to .5 kg and above for the lens.
Hope to get some good news from you guys out there
cause i am itching to start
though i have made notes from all the reading of 22 pages of this forum
    the list is ready
only have to decide to order it
    Cheers guys and great going

Well the 5208 motors Mario is using in his dual setup are said to handle 600-1500g each
    :)

    Hi Janne
    Thanks
i am almost convinced to start on this project with the 5208 motor.
I think i will call on Mario as to what exactly i should purchase to start the conversion of my CS gimbals
    i have a Canon 7D/5D on it.
hope i will be able to set up the PIDs or what ever it is called by myself.
Since i have two CS cam mounts i can safely start the experiment.

    Hi Mario.
Totally impressed with ur set up,
and i have no doubt it will handle my 5D canon perfect at 1.5 kg wt
Have u put up the entire set up with wiring diagram and instructions of some site for sale.
What all do i need... i have two CS gimbals and want to convert one of them.
Great seeing the video of ur set up.
    OR
if possible would u be able to give the diagram... it appears to be a parallel set up
with twin motors and twin controllers, but i see only one sensor ???
would be grateful for any help
    Regards

    Hi Ramesh,

We don't like doing half jobs, so if the mount wil meet our high quality standards we will introduce it on the market.

For now please be patient and injoy our postings trying getting there ;)

    Greetings,

    Mario

Ramesh, talk to Tom and this post refers to his conversion which I think is 3 axis by now. He is selling his conversion kit as far as i know. I am sure he can help you with something right away.:)

    Hi Tom
Can you confirm that the motors are GMB5208-180T and controller is Matinex V3.0
    U have done awesome work
I have the CS gimbal, with radians, and have been wanting to go brushless for a long time
    totally impressed with work
I have the Canon 5D, with a wt of 1.5kg
but i guess will have to keep the wt down to 1.2 kg by using a lighter lens.
or fall back on my Panasonic handy can at 800 grams which used Mini DV Tapes.
    Regards

the idea of me buying the 180T being that with time
the brushless controllers will improve to handle more current
and i will then need to change only the controller
and will be able to use these 180T motors.
Presently i dont plan to going beyond my 5D with a wt of 1.2 to 1.5 kg
    depending on lense.
Going for Red Epic is a dream at the present...
    but who knows the future

are u using the Martinez V3
    one controller for 2 axis.
or are u using one controller per axis for roll and pitch
which i guess will be lot less load on the controller and burning it out.
I am yet to make the order for motor and controller
just want to be sure before i punch the ORDER button

Kjetil, there are a few using the Red Epic on dd gimbals running the 5208-150t with good results.

    wow
that is fantastic news, one issue of motors sorted out
ok so 5208-150 is good, and i guess with price of 180T same as 150T
no harm in going for 180T
now the question is which controller should i go for
