Check out this web page: https://freeflysystems.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204936389-Does-the-ALTA-Record-Flight-Data-

This page describes Freefly's log analyzer: https://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/alta-flight-data-viewer.7547/

This thread may be of some assistance: https://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/alta-flight-recorder.7833/ -- it's for the ALTA 8, but the principles are the same for the ALTA 6.

    Also see FAQ #6: https://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/alta-faq.6913/

Also, I recently discovered this web site (but I have not tried the product): http://alta-log.com/

Don't hesitate to ask more questions about the flight log.

    Hope this helps!
    Andy

    Salut Marc:

One possibility is that you may have downloaded an earlier version of the Data Viewer (there were subsequent postings on that thread I cited to for downloading the Data Viewer with new versions). The most recent one is here: https://freeflysystems.zendesk.com/...-software-available-to-view-ALTA-flight-data-

Can you also confirm that you have a valid ALTA data log file -- it is actually a plain text file with comma separated values and should have a name like SYNLog-22-35-51.csv (where 22-35-51 is the time in 24-hour format).

Because it is a plain text file you can open it with any simple text editor -- or if you have Microsoft Excel, open it with that and you will see human readable data -- it's quite a "wide" spreadsheet, with columns going from A to FF (!!).

Let me know what you find.

    Hey Andy thanks for answering.

Ok for the Data Viewer but I don't think I need it to use the Synapse Log File Converter ?
And yes I have a valid ALTA data log file.

When I clic on the sflc.app, it creates the .gmx and .KML, .TXT but It also return a error message as you can see on the capture. The GPX and KML looks empty as you can see.

Oh...my apologies....I was thinking all along you were using Data Viewer. The SFLC was something I wrote as a stop-gap measure, but, when Data Viewer was updated, I stopped maintaining SFLC as Data Viewer seemed to be much superior.

I apologize for all the time you wasted with SFLC....J'ai vraiment bousillé:oops:....

Good question. I've never actually tried to do that, I'm afraid.

So to concluded, there's actually no known way to make a .gpx or .kml out of the Alta Data Log ? Can you confirm Andy?
    Thanks

Salut, Marc. I downloaded the DataViewer from https://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/alta-flight-data-viewer.7547/page-3 but I do not see any options to export the data as a .gpx or .kml file.

    Cheers
    Andy

One option, though a little more complicated, is to use Excel to open up the flight log, and export the relevant columns into XML to create a .gpx file. See https://mygeodata.cloud/converter/xls-to-gpx

    However, you have to:
    1. Make a backup copy of the flight log .csv file.
    2. Open up the flight log file with Excel.
    3. Possibly rename some column headings as described on the web page.
    4. Save the file as an Excel .xls file.
    5. Upload the file to the web site to get the GPX file.

    Hope this helps.
