Guys this may be an old problem but I can't find the the link that talks about it so here it is I change the motors on my 2nd copter and the throttle is very low it almost took 85% throttle to take off in manual when I switch to altitude hold woshh it almost hit the moon and my throttle went way down to 45% so what am I missing here are my components MK FC 2.2 MK Navi MK GPS Abusemark I2C 8x Maytech 65Amp opto Power hungry dist board Tiger U5 14x8 Graupner props 2x 5S 6600 Lipos All around weight 14.6 Lbs 6.6 Kg I know im light for this components that why in PH I had 45% throttle thanks
Jose: You might also want to check how you have the Altitude Hold set for the MK FC 2.2. If in doubt, capture a screen shot and post it in this thread. Andy.
thanks Howard and Andy Howard I did the bind plug sequence went well according to instructions then did the minimum gas I was 4 digits down now I am 2 digits higher than the minimum number (17) that the motors will start so I am at (19) Andy here is the Atitude page any thing else that I need to do ?
Try changing the Stick Neutral Point to 0...then the copter figures out the "hover" set point automatically. Also, what control do you have mapped to Channel 5? Right now, whatever that is, its controlling the altitude hold set point. Andy.
Thanks Andy I did now set the Stick neutral point to 0 I will test tomorrow the Setpoint that is map to Ch5 is the AH 2 position switch on the Radio Dx8
Is that switch swapped like you had altitude hold on then could not fly hover it then turned off then it took off???
Hi Jason I took off slowly with almost 85% throttle very little thrust left then I switch to Altitud Hold with that 2 position switch immediately the copter gain altitude as if I step on the gas, so I had to lower my throttle and it hover at about 45% since the last flight I have made the modifications suggested and tomorrow I will test again
Ok my understanding is if I am at hover in manual when I switch to AH the copter should not experience any mayor modification in its altitud is this right? for example of a small problem that I have on another standard MK CS8 when in manual hover as I turn AH it looses altitude so I have to add gas to stay at hover in AH I have to fix this
That's Chris Daidone posting -- he's got a very strange problem with what seems to be cross-coupled RC channels. Andy.
Ok today I did 2 test flights the problem persists my throttle is very low it almost took off at 100% throttle since I was fighting a tail wind in manual, as soon as I turn AH the copter shoots up, since I expected this I immediately lower the throttle to a hover at around 48% I did 1 flight with the stick neutral point to 0 and the other at 127 no difference...... any ideas
I'm starting to wonder whether the pressure transducer on the FC is having problems and under-reading the pressure -- which causes the FC to apply full throttle when you want to go to AH. If I remember correctly, Josh Lambert had this problem and reported it on the forum some months ago. I'm just dashing off to a meeting, but you might want to search the forum to see what he found the cause to be (if he found the cause). Andy.
Thanks Andy the low throttle is only in manual flight a soon as I turn AH it shoots up so I have to lower the throttle to what sims normal in this case 50% for hover
I have noticed a significant imbalance with AH in the latest software. My throttle is rather high at hover (have to figure out how to adjust that), and when I turn on AH, the copter blasts off. Similarly when I turn off AH, it drops like a rock. I have set the AH set point to zero (indicating automatic center point) but it seems to be out of whack. This is with firmware 2.03.
