i can't find how to adjust for pan speed in MKtool. I had sent in my cenistan8 for a overhaul and i just got it back yesterday, everything is working great except for the pan servo wants to spin FAST! it's had to control and to stop the spinning. it was never like this before the tune up, im just looking for a way to slow it back down in MKtool? thanks! -ian f.
How are you testing? If you simply have the copter sitting on the table top and turn on the Radians it will spin like a top. You need to suspend the Copter from something so that it more simulates flight conditions. See the videos from Freefly over on YouTube and you can see all of the setup stuff explained pretty clearly.
yea i just had it sitting ob a table, after I suspend it between two sawhorses and the spinning stopped, instead it was replaced with a violent twitching?...
That sounds like your gain settings are two high, Ian. You don't mention in which axis the twitching is occurring, so could you take a few minutes, connect up to each of the Radian sensors in turn with the Radian software, do a Read, and post a screen capture of the Diagnostic and Configuration windows, please? Thanks Andy.
hi Andy sorry, i was a bit rushed in my response yesterday. after suspending the copter and turning it on, the "pan" axes began violently oscillating back and forth a few degrees. today i took your advise on the gain settings and i dropped them from the default 100 down to 55. the twitching has stopped and i have a smooth pan motion!! just wondering if you think my setting of 55 is to low? thanks again for your help
Hi Ian: There's no absolute number I can tell you, unfortunately -- it all depends on the mass-in-motion (for example, your camera). Certainly 55 is a reasonable number -- I use that for my gimbal with a Sony CX760 on it. It also seems to be a reasonable number for the 5D Mk III -- but the acid test is to suspend the copter and then try panning back and forth and see if you get any incipient oscillation. Hope that helps. Andy.
yes that helps, thanks Andy.. i just ordered "a rather good guide to MK tool" a couple days ago, looking foreword to wrapping my head around it have a good one.
