I was doing a film shoot with Joe Satriani today at George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch, and he was fascinated with the Cinestar. Did a little flyover, too!

It was a treat to meet him and work with him. He is a total geek, and I mean that in the most respectful way. :D

Steve how cool is that. Now how about a tracking shot through the bridge with the car?

Excuse me Steve...I think you dropped this name.

    ;)

Very exciting. As a music geek and guitarist, I would have enjoyed this moment as much as you clearly did!

Very cool! I saw Satch a couple times. Steve are those QP8000's?

What kind of flight time are you getting with the 2 QP8000's?

10-11 minutes with the 5D Mark III and 12-14 minutes with the CX760V.

Steve, are you still flying this way with 2 batteries? They're not parallel I assume based on your flight time at 10-11minutes.

I think I just misunderstood "parallel" after reading another post of yours. I thought there were two ways to run in parallel, one that would be redundancy and another that would double the capacity available for flight.

Parallel is parallel. There's only one way to do it with the MK PDB. It's sort of redundant, although much discussion has been had about how much more reliable it is. But it does double the available current at the expense of extra weight. But I'm quite happy with my flight times.

Just started flying with a GH3 today, and initial results are really good. Much tuning to do, but it's a nice compromise between some advanced video capability and lighter weight than a 5D Mark III.
