Adam, Ok I got it to start working. I was following the PTR on the sticker and had my servo plugged into R so it was not in the 4th slot. so I plugged it in the 4 slot and it started working. Now I have shot the heli off and then on and it does not work again. Do I have to plug this thing in to the Computer every time I fly it?
Not at all. Once you've programmed it correctly, it should stay programmed. You should not need to connect it ever again -- unless you want to upgrade the firmware or change settings. Andy.
Then why is it not staying programmed, every time I unplug the flight battery and its turned off I plug it back in and it doesn't initiate until I plug it into the computer and hit write.
That's a good question. I suspect you may have a faulty unit as the EEROM is not preserving the settings. Presuming that you purchased it from QC, then you might want to access their web site and request an RMA and get it replaced. Andy.
Nathan, Did you check the orientation like it says in the sticky thread ?. An incorrect orientation is usually the cause of a Radian which seems to have a mind of it's own. Take the belt off or disconnect the servo while you do it. In theory the Radian would be in the centre of rotation of an axis, but it doesn't really matter too much in normal operation.
I hate it when electronics fixes itself without me doing anything.... But glad to hear that it's doing it now.... Andy.
Ok now its really spotty, If this radian isn't perfectly level on start up it wont remember the settings.
If that is a reproducible fault, then I suspect you have a rogue unit that needs to be replaced. Andy.
Hi Nathan, the Radian does not have to be level on powerup. I have a hunch there is another issue at play here...perhaps spotty power supply. Pics and perhaps video would be very helpful! Tabb
I just set up the RMA on the radian today so I will be sending it back to QC. I am using a Castle BEC that it soldered to my main power lead where the lipo plugs in. So i am not sure if its getting spotty power. Does that sound like it could be a problem.
