Game changer for sure...they'll eventually launch an 800 version I'm sure. I'm excited about all the redundancy features and D-RTK GNSS. The thought behind using 6 smaller batteries for travelling purposes is smart I think. It's actually very reasonably priced too. http://store.dji.com/product/matrice-600?from=store_index_banner
Well affordable just left the building! $954 x 8 flight runs = $7,632 + cost of Matrice. Seems to fall in line with Alta's pricing.
I was going to come post about the battery cost too, yeesh. If someone came out with a hack that could let us use the big lipos we already have it would make it much more appealing to me. I am tempted to get rid of my spare A2 and try out an A3 though, that seems very good.
Starting to sound a bit like the marketing of razors and razor blades. Or as I tell business colleagues, if I ran a car rental company the cars would be free. We'd make it up in all of the add on fees and charges. Typical business trip the car itself is about 40% of the total bill. And that's if you don't take the insurance
For me, the mental model is that of printer ink -- the most expensive everyday liquid on the planet! Oh, and the printer vendors ensure you have to use it to keep the nozzles on the printer unblocked. Nice scam. Andy.
