Hi Guys, We have spent days out in the field fine tuning our new m5 after loosing our last one to Poseidon. We had the old m5 working flawlessly with the new firmware and are having trouble achieving similar results with the new rig. here is a youtube video of the bumps We have tried adjusting stiffness, gyro filters, hold strength, isolators, copters (x8/ flat 8), steadyshot on/off, different camera firmwares Here is a screenshot of the settings we ended up with with steady shot on @24mm Would appreciate any help as we are running out of ideas. Cheers!
Anthony when you tune the the MoVI consider hanging the copter from a center point off of the ground and then do the tuning. It's always best to do the tuning the way you are going to use the MoVI.
Hi Gary, All of our tuning is done with the wifi adaptor while the movi is under the copter in flight. Pan/tilt and roll have all been balanced. We are leaning towards it being a isolation issue, but am open to any other ideas Cheers
Anthony I think you have broken new ground. I don't think anyone has ever posted that they tune while airborne.
haha really Gary? we thought that tuning in flight made the most sense - may as well tune in the conditions it will be operating in
You might want to try simply hanging it on the ground. I'd guess that you will get higher values. While in the air you have introduced all types of additional forces. Typically tuning is while the MoVI is nearly stationary.
I agree with Gary....my first reaction is that it's going to be trying to autotune to a moving target (literally and metaphorically!).
