I think I know the answer to this... but just curious if anyone out there is swinging 15inch props on their CS8? From what it looks like they won't fit. Thanks! Josh
With 450mm booms supplied with the standart kit, it's not possible to use 15" props. Freefly offers 550mm booms, which you will be able to swing 15" props easily.
Or you can use the standard booms, 15" props, start the motors and the system will "self-adjust" the props to the correct length. Andy
You need 500mm's for 15's and 550mm's for 16s on an Octo. I am flying 500's on my Octos right now with XOAR 15x5's and it is flying really nice!
Hi Andy, Motors are from FF skunkworks and I am using 4s 9000mah packs in parallel. Nice long duration heavy lifter More info to come in the near future. Tabb
HI La Turbine, Yes the booms are available through any of our distributors. I think they were just added to our product list so they might not be widely available yet. Certainly if you ask you favorite re-seller to stock them they can order them up.
I think you need to call them and ask for Karsten in Sales and they'll arrange to order them from FF for you. Andy.
Aha.. thx...! I dont want them Right now but for a second Heavylift ring i have to buy them Andy with 450 booms what the max weight you think is ok?? i have 7 kg and its ok..!
If I'm not mistaken Tabb has a video somewhere that shows a C8 lifting 30 lbs (13.6 kg). Of course, it's the inevitable trade-off between weight and flight duration. But 7 kg does not seem excessive to me. Andy.
Hello, 550mm booms are now available here: http://www.quadrocopter.com/CineStar-Boom-XL_p_708.html We will have 500mm by the middle of next week. Also, there are 14" and 15" Xoar props en route that are slated for arrival by the first week of November. Greetings, Adam
How Hey Adam, How much will you be selling the 15inch Xoars for? Also are the 500mm booms listed as CS6 on your site the same as the 500mm booms for the CS8? Im assuming they are but thought I would check. Josh
Hello Josh, Xoar 15x5" propeller pair MSRP will be $32. Yes, the "cinestar6-xl" boom is 500mm in length and can certainly be used on a cinestar 8. Perhaps it would be less confusing if the 500mm boom be called "XL" and the 550mm be called "XXL"? Or just drop the X's and L's and stick with the hard numbers We always appreciate feedback on QC web store navigation. Thanks
I agree with Josh. I wear an XL T-shirt -- so what size is that? It's an example of double semantic mapping where the trait in question (500 mm) is mapped to an intermediary value (XL) that has the effect of losing the semantics of the original trait. Sorry to geek down on you here, but the world is already doing this enough (quick: Why is the MX-20 beeping? Well, it means: "There has been an error, see if you can guess what's wrong.") Oh. Am I ranting? Andy.
Hi Tabb: I have a Cinestar 8 with KW10 motors, 70A ESC, running 5S 10000mah batteries and graupner 14x5 props. I would like to start flying my M10 with a RED Epic. Do you think the octo will lift it? Thanks
