See the attached PDF. Earl Lawrence, director of the UAS Integration Office, was interviewed in AUVSI's magazine: Q: What will happen to the Section 333 process once the SUAS rule is implemented? A: Right now, we're using the authority Congress gave the Secretary of Transportation via Section 333 of the FAA's 2012 reauthorization to authorize UAS operations on a case-by-case basis. The rule (Part 107) will largely alleviate the need to evaluate these operations individually. Certain UAS and UAS operations may still require exemptions, but we anticipate that Part 107 will be comprehensive enough to fulfill much of the public desire for commercial UAS operations. That would seem to be rather a lot of words to say "Generally no, but occasionally yes."
