it seems that this thing is the same but bigger from the old CS gimbal..! It will be great if we can upgrade ours to DD...! I think it will be easy...! GREATTT>...!
As Mike Magee said on another thread, www.quadrocopter.com. Please do not drool on your keyboard folks ittt maakeeess themmm douubbbblee tyyppeee... Andy.
Looks like it will not be an upgrade. You will have to purchase a whole new gimbal. Tabb, any ballpark price range so we can start saving our money?
The devil is in the detail.....they said we are using newly developed IMU....for the gimbal....is it MEMS gyro ,FOG or Rate gyro ?
We are also very curious if the CS3 we have now will be upgradeable, if not for sure every CS3 owner will loose a lot of money
Before we get on to the price.....we need to slice and dice the product.....I hope this is appreciated...results would determine the price
Go to NAB in Las Vegas next week. Tabb said that all the hardware will be there. I suspect we'll find out a lot more once people see these in the flesh. As far as upgrades go, I would infer from the fact that they're selling the new gimbals and flight controllers separately that you can mount them on the existing Cinestar copters. But from the looks of the gimbal, I doubt there'll be an "upgrade" from the existing 3-axis gimbal, unless you can re-use the booms, clamps and camera mount. But those pieces are a small fraction of the cost of the gimbal. And your Radians are not needed for the MöVI gimbal. So maybe Tabb & Co. will offer an "upgrade", but I doubt it'll represent much of a savings, unless they're feeling particularly charitable (which IMHO is unnecessary).
http://blog.vincentlaforet.com/ Here is their big announcement... and it's HUGE! Also a nice price-tag... $15K! But holy cow!
Wonder what the landing gear will consist of? Retracts?? Very impressive stuff, can't wait for more info!
From the picture on their site, the MōVI will mount similarly to the current 3-axis gimbal, and rotate independently of the copter in the pan axis, so there shouldn't be any retracts necessary.
