I think those models are only available in the EU, Mikael. Sony did announce the PJ790 at CES 2013, but it's not clear to me whether the features are substantively better than the CS760/730. Andy.
Yes there is model for every place (PJ780/PJ790 ...) but I mean it's a new generation compare to the CX version, so should be better ...
I would hope that it would be better, but reading the technical specifications, it doesn't not appear to have much advance on the optical stabilization, video options, and it still only shoots JPEG still images at 24.1 Mpix. I have not been able to tell what imagery it emits via the HDMI port when at is recording (and therefore what one would see in the downlink on the ground). Please post additional information that suggests it is an improvement over the CX760/730 -- I, like you, would hope that it would be better, but..... Andy.
