I notice the shape of the MK8 is different than the shape of the CS8 the MK8 fits in a square and the CS8 fits in a circle = MK uses 4 shorter length booms than the other 4 booms, CS all booms are the same length
    is this right?
any one care to comment on the + or - of this configurations ?
    thanks OCTO SHAPE .001.jpg

Smaller props on the MK8. MK Octo XL is 12" props vs 14" props on the CS8. More lift on the CS8. Standard CS8 is 450mm booms. MK is a mix of 460mm and 355mm.

Correct but regardless of the size of props you can put on either frame, my curiosity goes more towards the fact they 4 booms are shorter placing the motors and props in a different position in relation to each other comparing the CS8 all around shape each motor has an identical motor/prop next to it I was wondering if MK design has technical flight reasons to be this way?

Post the question over on the MK forums. Maybe Holger will see it and answer.
