There is no shaking in the majestic pan and tilt mode when there is a connection with the movi pro mimic, and there are many shakes in the other modes I have tested with other Movi pro, and we have the same symptoms in two mimics, and the other movi pro work fine with two mimics.
If you move the Mimic farther away from the Movi, does it still act like this? The radio signal is very strong in the Mimic, and it can overload the Movi if it's too close.
I suspect one/all of you might have to email to support@freeflysystems.com on this, I'm afraid. Please post again once you get a response and/or workaround. Has anybody found a fix for this yet? The only way my MIMIC works if I set it to Majestic Pan/Tilt but in Direct it does the same crazy jiggle. Hope to find an answer soon
I noticed, with mine, that the Mimic causes this freakout more when it's handheld, but if I mount it to a tripod with a pan and tilt head, it's very smooth. I typically keep the Mimic in 'Level Roll' mode, except for recently when the DP wanted to do a dutch roll, and it worked really well in 'Direct' mode.
For my tests I just had it sitting on the floor. That should be comparable to having it on a tripod. I really dont get it. With the prototype that had to shoot THE LIGHT it worked 100%. Never had a single issue. Very odd...
My first production day with the mōvi pro is aproaching (friday) and i think i wouldn't be able to use mimic due this crazy jiggling. Does anyone found a solution?
This has been my entire experience with the MIMIC since buying the MōVI Pro in November. I haven't had any luck with varying distances, channels, or settings. The new firmware hasn't helped either. Will send a message to support.
I'm having this issue with the mimic, too. Has anyone found a solution? We start a feature film on Friday and the mimic is a key part. MASSIVE issue here...
Hi James, have you tried removing the antenna from the Mimic? Or moving it farther away from the Movi? That's usually the first cause, is the radio is so strong it 'swamps' the signal if they're too close. Also, I put the Mimic on a tripod, as I find the sensitivity to cause some vibrations. I never heard from anyone on here if there was an actual issue solved by Freefly support or not, but you could try contacting them at Support@FreeflySystems.com Maybe there were defective copies of the Mimic system out there? I've seen several threads on here about it, but no one ever posted their resolution.
I had to return my gimbal and also my mimic to mövi to be tested and repired. That was the option free fly gave to me. Sorry to carry the bad news
