Hi there! I am looking for a good quality BEC to power my GR-16 receiver and thus the Radians and a HDMI-converter. I'm using a 3s LiPo as the battery for the gimbal. It will supply my 5.8ghz video transmitter with 12 volts and I need a BEC to supply the HDMI-converter and GR-16 receiver with 5 volts. Anyone know a place (in Europe, preferably) where I can buy a good quality BEC? Thanks! /Sejer
The castle BEC is great. You can also program it to run from 4v-9v of output. Don't use anything over 5V for the servos though. http://www.castlecreations.com/products/ccbec.html Don't need the PRO version. Josh
Hi Josh: Actually, the FF servos are rated for 6v Max. See FAQ #1 http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/radian-faq.220/). But any more than that and they turn into ex-servos. Andy.
True but I have seen others who have burned theirs at 6V... and if Tabb is running at 5V without issues why run them at a higher voltage? I have been running mine at 5 and haven't had any issues even with an epic. Josh
Oh, that's interesting. Perhaps we should amend the FAQ. What do you think? No point in having the FAQ saying 6v when it should really be 5v. Andy.
The only reason I could construct in my mind is that the servo response would (allegedly) be faster, but I've not tried it so it's hearsay. Andy.
