Need some help with our GRmx 20. The Receiver is a GR16. The error message on the TX is; Fail Safe TBD. We have the latest firmware 1.126. System appears bound. We can see activity on the MK tools. We flew yesterday and experimented with the Expo, we turned down Expo to 40 and it would not start. Turned up to 80 and system started and ran all day. Not sure if this is related. We had the system flying for about two months and have not experienced this problem. The file is attached for the MK tool settings. Sincerely, Matt
I think the transmitter is just telling you that you have not set the Graupner "Fail safe" -- which you don't really need to do as you're flying the MK avionics and it has its own "emergency come home." There may be a way of setting some kind of Graupner fail safe just to stop the warning message from appearing. Andy.
Thanks Andy, we found that we needed to recalibrate the sticks on the TX. That's why the motors would not start. The Fail Safe issue was we needed the Sum to 16. Thanks for you help. Matt
Thanks for letting us know, Matt. You can see on the Servo Monitor screen whether you're getting full travel of the sticks -- I found that applying too much Expo also had the effect of not allowing motor start/stop. I'm saying this here just in case someone stumbles on to this thread in the future. Andy.
One other option if you have a lot of expo on and want to keep it is to increase the servo output in the transmitter to 103% for the 4 main channels ... it should enable the start stop stick combinations, while maintaining the expo settings around centre ...
