Yea, X8 would be definetly enough for my cams but thinking that if I just get the extra 2 motors and build coax hex then I could offer the chance of lifting a Red..And that would be great!!!
Depending on how you build it, a Coax X8 could lift a small car Basic version: 15lbs payload Extreme version: 44lbs payload
OMG!Thats crazy geaar!!! If I had the funds I would probably go for something like that, X8 just looks so neat, easy transport etc... But limited to 13-14 props by MK bl and motors I think the cheap way to go is geting 2 extra motors.. Like this video, can you guys identificate the gear? Seams like MK electronics and apc 13 65 E props..is that cinestar gimbal?
Looks everything is custom made, but with lots of Cinestar inspiration on many birds though ;-) Scroll down to bottom of news page; http://intuitiveaerial.com/news/ /Janne
Thanks Howard! I did all the mixing and superficial test with coptertools and everything seams ok...I loaded X4 and aplied 8 motors with that mixer setup. Is that ok? I was going to go test it now and so I turn it on and get the alarm for no Tx.. There is conection between Tx and Rx Im even geting telemetry. Checked koptertools, Im on Graupner Hott. Solder on Fc Ok... and I just tried it 5 minuts ago and it was all good!
Found it: NFO - SUMO 12 Setting If you hold down the button (accidentally) at the receiver while connecting, the "SUMO 12" setting will be deleted. This can be also happen if you connect the receiver with a powered up Mikrokopter and hold down the button. In this case you have to set this setting again. If you don't have a number behind SUMO, you have to update the transmitter. How to update the transmitter you can see here: Update
Airborne!!! Needs some fine tuning but I can say its really smooth!! Ill post a video tomorrow with copter details and a test flight. thank you guys very much!
Hey guys, I posted this video before with the same concept, not sure if you saw that, I used the CS6 frame for the dodeka, now im building another one with the longer booms.. ill post some videos soon.. Tabb, will the new boards support 12 motors? Cheers, Ziv
Hi!! So: -Copter: X8 custom frame aluminum 1.5x1.5 arms and CF center plate,78cm rotor to rotor. Mk electronics and motors(3638) with SF 12x38 APC props top and botom. PID: 100/120/15 sticks: at 4. -Camera & Gimbal: CX 730 and MK HS2. -Flight and BL temps 09`27min on 2x4000 4s 40c Turnigy bats- Total Mah 6845. Max Bl temps 78C / Air temp 16C . the Dome just has a hole in the top. Cant get hand on a scale... -First impresions: It still doesnt feel as stable and solid as flat configuration. I feel that the Fc overcomes the stic imput, when I want to fly in any direction I need to increase constantly stick to mantain flight angle. Its not as wobbly as flat descending but still needs twiching. Lacs solidicity(is that word correct¿¡?).. It sound great, like if the vibrations were much less, sounds softer I have some CF13x65 around, should I combine? If so, should I level the mixer to the same values? Any sugestions are very well come! I,m sorry on the presentation of the little punk, just testing for now.. Regards, Alex
Hi Ziv! Did you get your setings right? Dos that prop combination make a dieference? Hows that truck full of chopers you hace coming along? Regards, Alex
TEST 2 Changed the props to 13x65 CF top and botom. PID: 100/120/10 sticks: at N8-R6-Y6. -Camera & Gimbal: CX 730 and MK HS2. -Flight and BL temps 11min on 2x4000 4s 40c Turnigy bats- Total Mah 7000 Max Bl temps 102C(BL7) rest 65 avarage / Air temp 16C . -First impresions: Much more stable, good enough to shoot with now! It still needs some fine tunning so it runs smoother for AP.. Props seam to be more efective as this time I pulled out 11min! also consumed a bit further to 7000mha..I gotmy low batery alarm set at 3.6v x cell. Going to check that Bl as its runninbg 30C above the avarage..kopter is balanced by the way.. Regards, Alex
Hi Alex, sure did! i tested that setup last burningMan in really tough conditions, wind, heat, dust storms and it was amazingly strong! the MIX setup worked great, now Im building another one, with larger props and motors.. hope ill have some time to finish it soon, ill def. post it cheers! Ziv
Yep, you're getting there. 13" - 15" are definitely the way to go. Not enough lift with 12" For kicks, try my settings with your rig. I have it set to fly calm and smooth...not so reactive to stick input (not jumpy). I don't use a compass or GPS. My payload weighs approx 3200g...gimbal+camera/lens/electronics etc. My motor KV are a little higher than yours so that may make a difference in perfromance.
