If I start the MoVI, there are always 3 blinking lights. The only way to get that to stop is to connect with the software, which I usually have to do a couple of times before I stop getting all errors. I always have to reboot the controller to get it to connect. Since I don't have an Android device, and don't wish to take my computer everywhere I go with this thing, is there anyway around this without buying an Android tablet? Shouldn't it start up properly with out rebooting from software?
Fred if you get the 3 lights flashing on power up and they don't stop flashing then it is either a failure of the gimbal initializing (gimbal moving around during power up). The other would be a loose connector to one of the motors or control boxes. Gimbal initialization failed. Restart Gimbal by switching off then on. Allow 5 seconds without camera movement for Gimbal to initialize. A wire has come unplugged. Carefully check all wiring and connectors, especially the IMU Puck wire. Re-seat any loose connections. If a wire has come completely unplugged, refer to the Wiring Diagram for the appropriate connection point.
I don't know if there is one published yet. The folks that have had this happen simply checked all of the connectors making sure they were fully inserted and that solved the problem. If you need a wiring diagram send an email to support@freeflysystems.com. If checking the connectors doesn't solve it please open a ticket with Freefly.
need help... we have been using the movi for months... and we always get things setup and ready to go. but this weekend when we start up the Movi, it starts to blink the 3 blinking lights... we are very sure that the unit is in a stabilized condition, and i am checking all the wiring for connection. it apparently we have all the connections connected... but still getting the blinking lights... can anyone help us? thanks Albert
Check out my thread Albert, http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/three-flashing-lights-init-failed-help.2260/ I can tell you that it's possible to think the cables are seated but the trick is that they go in very stiffly - try a visual check of all jacks to see if any are farther out than the others.
thank god... we had to remove a lot of screws to get to the connector... it appears to be the tilt motor white connector come to loose... thanks
