Hello Everyone, Just thought I share our solution for the HDMI converter issue we were having with our GH3 and the Cinestar 8. We were trying to use the white converter box found on Amazon but that did not work. We came upon a blog post with a solution and it works all for under $50. Here is the link to the item. They shipped it out next day from China http://www.hobby-wing.com/fpv-hdmi-av-converter-board.html Here is the original blog post by FlyByAP http://flybyap.com/solution-for-faulty-hdmi-to-av-board-on-dji-zenmuse-gh3/
Stephan I've had several of the ones from Amazon and never had a problem. Hard to tell from the English translation how well the hobby wing works. Give us an update if you go that route.
Gary, This is the one we we tried to use but didn't work. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009A4Q1WI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I know they sell different ones. Are you flying the Gh3? Either way the hobby wing one seems to be working fine for now.
I've had 4 of them. Cases all look the same but the internal boards have varied. No problems with an Nex7 or Nikon D800. Sounded like the S800 guy was getting noise but with either the MK stack or FF motor set didn't have a problem. Did see that the MK Stack wasn't as good as running a separate battery for the video circuit (fpv cam and transmitter) so I run a separate battery. How do you like the HW cable?
The Hobby Wing one seems to be working well. Its very lightweight as well and it comes with the stripped down small HDMI cable. If I have any issues in the future with it I'll post my results.
I bought the amazon white box and its working fine. It needed power though before it would pass the signal.
http://www.hobby-wing.com/fpv-hdmi-av-converter-board.html It was the one I linked in the first post. Maybe I was having issues with the other one because I did not power it properly.
