Hi All We are looking for a small ear-piece based intercom systems to use while operating the MōVI set up. At this very moment we use the GT-Dect wireless headphone as intercom system. On the behind the scenes video of Freefly Systems 'RUN' I saw Tabb running with a very small ear piece like you have the bluetooth headsets for your phone. Is there anyone out here that now what brand this is? Greetz Kevin
Like this? http://forum.freeflysystems.com/ind...ic-cordless-phones-for-comms.2560/#post-30687 But, like Kevin, I'd like to know if there was some "industrial strength" rugged wireless means for the pilot to communicate with the camera op -- I was on a windy beach trying to communicate with the camera op above the noise of the waves and the wind and it required lots of shouting... We use a set of Portacoms, model 540 or something. The units are a little bulky but they do support the use of Bluetooth headsets so you can tuck the unit away on you somewhere and just have the headset on.
I use the HME headsets. they are wireless and work great. I use them on all crane work and now MoVi. Great to have your focus puller on the line for quick adjustments and run and gun stuff and absolutely necessary for dual operator mode with the wheels console from Walter Klassen. They are not cheap but they fetch a decent rental so you will make your investment back.
