Help! Attempting to update movi pro to blackjack via iOS. Keep getting Bluetooth disconnections when on the updates page. When I click Bluetooth update the app crashes, and closes. Reboot movie pro, reboot movi pro app, reconnect Bluetooth. Occasionally, I'll get past the app crash, the Bluetooth update will begin, then get to midway through step 3 of 3 then displays "oh no! failed to update firmware!"
What firmware is your Movi already on before you're trying to update? There's also the "SD Card Method". See this link for instructions: https://freeflysystems.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016244631
Thanks, Graham! I believe the Movi was still on v1.0 firmware. Thanks for the link to the instructions. SD card method worked to update the Bluetooth firmware and now the iOS app is updating firmware with no crashes. Now updated to firmwareV1.5.2 Now, how do I get V2.0 to show up in movi app? or will I need to do this through SD card too?
Glad that it worked. To get the Beta Firmware (v2.0), you have to do a couple of things. Go to Freefly's Beta Firmware page, found here: https://freeflysystems.com/support/movi-pro-support/beta It actually updates via a separate Movi Pro Beta App on your iPhone, not the regular App. There's an iOS app called Test Flight, that developers use to allow people to Beta test their apps, and that's what Freefly uses, in order to keep Beta software separate from the proven, working firmware. You also have to request to be a Beta tester, which takes about a day for Freefly to approve you. It's not a big deal, and I think they approve everyone who wants it. Once they approve you, you can get the Beta app and update your Movi. Good luck! -G.
Oh, and don't forget, you also need to update your Mimic the same way you updated your Movi Pro. If you have a Movi Controller, you'll need to update that as well.
