Does anyone know a work around to control an Arri cForce motor through the LBUS port with the Movi Controller? I'd really love a solution to not have to buy additional motors. Thanks!
You want to plug the motors into the LBUS of an Arri Mini and control them with the Movi Controller instead of the WCU? I've never seen that. What hand unit\MDR are you currently using to control the motors? WCU4? CMotion? Freefly has stated specifically that Arri motors are not compatible with the built-in FIZ: https://freeflysystems.zendesk.com/...ork-with-the-MōVI-Pro-MōVI-XL-integrated-FIZ-
I understand that freefly doesn't natively work with the arri motors, but i'm hoping either an auxiliary wireless connecter/converter of some sort could allow the controls to work with the motors. I have a WCU4 kit and have shoots with the Flowcine Blackarm coming up and would like the operator to be able to focus as well as control the gimbal with the Movi Controller. In other words, i'd like a transmitter from the controller to translate to the Arri brain to then control the motors.
Arri is very protective of their LBUS protocol. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this if I was you
I have the same motors... Actually the CDM 100/m (for MOLEX) are the MoVI Pro version. I'd love to find a cable that will convert the Molex to the Lemo connector for use on a Preston MDR. I emailed Chroziel about it (since they also make these same motors with that connector) and never received a response. Let me know if you come up with something!
