Joey, If you absolutely cannot avoid staying within the recommended 5lb weight limit, and you are 8oz over weight, it will not destroy the gimbal. No matter if you are under 5lb or slightly over, it is important that you properly balance the camera/lens package BEFORE powering the unit on. Then of course properly tuning the unit will be beneficial as well. If everything is balanced and tune properly, the only thing you may notice by being slight over the recommended weight limit, is less usage time from the LiPo battery. Hey Joey, M5 + Alexa Mini + Cooke Anamorphics + Terradeck Bolt + RT Motion ...... weighs a lot more than 5lbs, and it will work in a M5 with some careful modification.
