Hi there, Im looking for an alternitave servo for my gimbal for all three axis, and im looking at the Longbow P1 Pan Servo.. Does anyone have any experiance of them? and is the cost justified? Im getting unuseable results with the Freefly servo, especially when mounted on the tilt Axis, so im keen to experiment.. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
You probably will hear FF is the only recommended servo for CS gimbal. Only way to find out if other servos like Longbow will work is to take the dive and try it out. This servo does look interesting though!
Problem is, there $190 each, so a bit of a gamble if there not going to cure my problems.. Thas y im asking for other users experiances with them.. THeres videos on YouTube, but only on the Pan Axis, Im interested to know if there any good on Tilt and roll too..
The servo we are using is not smooth enough.. The footage shows a "Judder" which we have tracked back to the servo its self..
Could you post a clip showing the problem? Perhaps it's not the servo. I haven't tried the Longbowservo, but I had the Savox and they don't have a good performance with the Radians, this I can say.
Here is a link to a video i made.. The test is a little extreme, but it does show the problem, and the effect on the tip of the rule, is the same effect im getting on the camera..
You will not have stabilization if you use Longbow servo unless you modify it for external potentiometer. And I'm not sure it will work even with the modification. The problem you're having is what I'm familiar with. I'm using Copter Control as camera stabilization until the Radians arrive. Unless I adjust input range & input rate correctly, the stick movements suck.
