Arthur....that is a hell of a deal! 4K for 4K ;) Certainly for ground work it is a great option. Flying the RED ONE on helicopters in the past was always a pain!

Sad to update that the F55's price is rumored to be somewhere around $40K-$50K. The F5 is said to be priced at $19K-$25K. The F5 is still impressive but is not as option packed as the F55. Still no price confirmation on either.

Nice weight reduction! The carbon pieces will be only a few 10s of grams, great idea! Only concern is RED warranty, do you think it will be affected in any way? I'd share the idea with them then ship them some slick looking examples...they'd love it i'm sure.

Howard, I am sure the warranty is void at this point. On this battle tested Scarlet it was only for 90 days anyway so not a big deal. Yeah the replacement parts are not even needed structurally...just to keep the dust / grime out.

Doesn't matter. If the camera ever needs to be repaired all one would need to do is slap the original panels back on and put the camera back to original condition...done!

It's a big job but if you could machine a bunch of metal off that case it could shave a lot off, I would think.
Definitely way past warranty repair. :)
