Aircraft Type: Droidworx 8HL and MD4-1000Gimbal Type: Cinestar 2 axis, Photohigher AV-130Radian Type: 2 axisGimbal Power source: 2s Lipo with Castle creations BEC 10A @ 6V Radian Communication Protocol (S.Bus, PPM, PWM, Spektrum) SBUS Connections: Roll Sensor: Port 1. Futaba SBUS receiver and power. 2. 3. SBUS To Tilt sensor 4. To Roll Servo Tilt Sensor: Port 1. SBUS from Roll sensor 2. Camera trigger 3. 4. To Tilt Servo Pan Sensor: N/A Port 1. 2. 3. 4. Symptoms: We’re using 2 sets of Radian stabilizers: one pair on a Cinestar 2 axis and the other pair on a photo higher AV130 Gimbal (Video of AV130) In the past I had successfully set them up previous rigs with exactly the gimbals/wiring and without Drift. But on these new setups my Tilt axis seems to Drift on both gimbals./radians. Roll Axis behaves fine. When we set the camera pointed down at 90Deg, After about 30s the Gyro begins to drift in one direction or the other depending on what way the craft is faced. I also noticed on the Radian config software that when pointed down at 90 Deg the “current angle” says 90 DEG but as it starts to drift it still stays at 90 DEG. (in other words it’s not sensing the drift and still thinks it’s at 90DEG) Steps taken to resolve: Gimbal Balancing + Belt tensioning We’ve tried both extremes of gain hi and low and cannot resolve the problem. we’re running at 6Volts from a clean UBEC and via SBUS. We’ve also tried different BECS / and varying the voltage slightly (5-6v) Video attached http://youtu.be/255LTAWdQP8
Appears that you do not have the Mode switch enabled. Any particular reason? When it was working did you have the same servo's? Are the current servos terminated with the resistor packs that came with the Radians? Just a starting place.
Hi Garry, We are using the Free fly servos that came with the Cinestar, and the Terminating plugs that come with the Radians. We don't use the mode switch on the Tilt axis only This allows us to change the tilt angle in any mode. (useful when you don't want the Pan axis on Slew mode) Regards Jason
