Thank you so much for sharing this Rob!! What an exciting future for us Freefly operators! Warm regards Barry
I like the new pan bar. I wonder how pan balance will be adjusted? It doesn't look like you can rotate the vertical post anymore.
But why M10 owner have to pay $3,000 for update to M15. This is minor update and already M5 has those system. * Fully enclosed camera cage for maximum rigidity and shot stability * Twin tube pan axis to allow for max payload while in inverted mode * Fully protected wiring * Simplified fully tool-less balancing * Inverted mode for more comfortable eye-level camera position * Quick release top handle to allow for rapid adjustmentSo I don't think $3,000 is fair.
You're forgetting about the capability of handling larger & heavier cameras too. I'm not sure but more then likely they're having to replace the motors too. The M10 is $15k. $3k actually sounds like a bargain to me! If you ever want to see 'not fair' then you should price the upgrades for ProTools rigs.
I was wondering the same thing Chris. I like that you no longer need tools to slide the pan balance forward and aft.
Given that the bar cannot rotate off centre any more there should be no need to balance pan in two directions- good news all round
so will our cinema oxide cases become obsolete? and how does the M15 work with the smaller DSLR's canon 5d mii?
i am curious that when will this upgrade option become available and how does upgrade works... do we get new parts to upgrade or trade in for new one?
Hmm. Wonder where the onboard can be mounted with the movi on the steadi arm? I love the idea of over slung m15 and be carried by a steady arm.
nice --- freefly has delivered and kept movi in the tip edge of this ride. I definitely want this upgrade.
I really don't need a rig that can hold more weight but if there are features on this that make balancing and overall better design than the M10, I would like to see what the steps are for upgrading. i just got my Movi M10 about a month ago.
I am interested to know about the Cinema Oxide issue too, I am guessing that the case will not fit the M15?
