Would this be useful for detecting noisy EMF environments?

I would like to get a good RF spectrum analyzer to help pre-determine interference, select the best channel for the 5.8 downlink, etc. It seems some even offer magnetic field analysis and many other things. Does anyone know anything about these types of meters or has anyone ever used or seen one used?

Afterthought: While any device that can detect EMF on the ground might be useful -- it's not going to be too terribly useful to tell you what kind of EMF the bird might fly through, I'm afraid. :(
