While the premise of this article is rather silly (Ghostbusters references), it got me thinking that for $20US it might make for a decent part of my preflight checklist. Andy? Shaun? Any others? Thoughts? http://uncrate.com/stuff/mr-ghost-iphone-emf-detector/
If it can detect 1.3 Ghz, 2.4 Ghz, and 5.8Ghz, it would be interesting -- but you might be just as well off with http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-33063-WiFi-Finder/dp/B0000A55F4 If you've got strong WiFi that can interfere with your RC Transmitter/Rx. Andy.
I would like to get a good RF spectrum analyzer to help pre-determine interference, select the best channel for the 5.8 downlink, etc. It seems some even offer magnetic field analysis and many other things. Does anyone know anything about these types of meters or has anyone ever used or seen one used?
Afterthought: While any device that can detect EMF on the ground might be useful -- it's not going to be too terribly useful to tell you what kind of EMF the bird might fly through, I'm afraid. Andy.
