Thanks Andy: I wanted to look at my data, and determine why I had to hold the throttle down so much on my new CS8 HL. I had to put about -20 on the throttle just to hold it level, unless I had AH on.
The new GPXTools still has a few glitches, in the graph it showed my CF was on the whole flight. (I did send in a donation awhile back.) When I looked at it in GPX Viewer it wasn't on at all... as i thought.

Gary: I moved this from Announcements into Electronics. Could you post the GPX file please?

    Thanks
    Andy.

Looks like I might have had CF on, but that would't affect the throttle. Not really sure how to read these very well. Might need to reverse that switch? lol It was the first flight.
Problem: throttle has to be held down the entire flight, when AH wasn't engaged, or it took off for the clouds. Looks like throttle had to be help at about -20 .

What transmitter are you using Gary? Many pilots I know prefer to remove the spring-centering for the throttle for precisely the reason you're experiencing.

Personally, I would encourage you NOT to use Carefree....it will bite you sooner or later. I infer that you have spent some time training yourself using a simulator such as AeroSIM (which has a good Cinestar model).

It's also worth taking the time to learn what the contents of a GPX file is. Have a look at http://wiki.mikrokopter.de/GPX -- it explains what each field is -- albeit somewhat briefly. But you can always post on the forum to ask specific questions.

Thanks Andy, I have an MX-20. I've been flying a CS6 for 3 years, so no worries, VERY familiar with all things MK. Didn't think I had CF engaged, but it was my very first flight with the CS8 HL, but the problem was not with the CF but the throttle. At 127, neutral throttle, the CS8 HL took off for the clouds.

Yeah, I have an MX-20 too. I prefer not to have a spring-centered throttle.

I've really gotten used to my centered throttle, and use it on my MZ-24 too. Don't really have any problem with all my other multirotors 5 of them, just this one.

What payload weight are you carrying with the CS8 HL?

No payload Andy, just an initial test flight, which is probably why it took off so fast. No gimbal or weight.

Yeah....that's the "problem" -- if "problem" it really is -- it's just a reflection of the amount of power the copter has. You'll need that power when you start lifting a gimbal and camera.

Thanks Andy, thought it might be that.
