Hey guys, I'm new to this whole "mechanical gimbal" world. I usually use a glide cam to get my shots but I wanted to upgrade to something with more capability (mainly mounting it on the bottom so I can get shots low to the ground) and I was wondering if the 2 axis gimbal would work as a handheld. Is it smooth as a handheld? Will the weight be an issue? Any answers to those basic questions would be awesome.
    Thanks.

I've used my 3 axis as a 'steady cam' a few times. It works well enough that people assume it was a steadicam. Things to be aware of though, audio will be useless if your shooting video. Weight being an issue will depend on which camera you are using and will also depend on the slider. I'd recommend mounting some dead weight under the slider to simulate the underslung camera and gimbal and see if it still slides well.
