Okay I came up with a total cost for the equipment I need after pulling an all-nighter. Here's a list and cost of all the equipment I'm getting. I'd like to hear what you guys have to say. Before you read, I will say I'm not going to do FPV setup and my plan is to have a real estate aerial picture business (is a phantom and gopro optimal for that), as well as promotional video for businesses (how good of quality does a 5D offer?) I also don't have included "crashcopters" for my employees to train on. As I'm typing this, I'm realizing gaps already.haha Anyways, take a look and let me know what you think. Not included in here is insurance on equipment and also a 30% increase as a buffer for extra parts and damages/accidents. Total costs: $33,100 (with 30% increase buffer) Cinestar 8- $3,700 DJI Phantom- $480 Go Pro- $335 Gimbal- $75 Camera Gimbal- $1500 13 batteries for Cinestar- $2420 5 batteries for Gimbal- $180 2 LCD monitors- $800 2 Radios Cinestar Transmitter - $1450 Gimbal Transmitter - $960 Battery Charger- $285 Power Supply- $200 Cases- Cinestar- $330 Equipment- $300 Camera- $175 GPS Mount- $55 Radian Stabilization Module- $700 GPS Flight Control System- $1300 Receivers- $345 Photo/Video Processing- $600 Camera Canon Mark 5D 3 Body- $3400 Lens- Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM Autofocus Lens -$549 Lens- Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon -$1,150 Laptop- $1748
You didn't spec a gimbal for the Cinestar. The 2-axis can be operated by the pilot, but the 3-axis generally requires a second camera op. 2-AXIS CINESTAR CAMERA MOUNT + RADIAN PACKAGE http://www.quadrocopter.com/2-Axis-CineStar-Camera-Mount-Radian-Package_p_662.html 3-AXIS CINESTAR CAMERA MOUNT + RADIAN PACKAGE http://www.quadrocopter.com/3-Axis-CineStar-Camera-Mount-Radian-Package_p_665.html
Also, you might want to consider the cost of your time to learn how to fly, take care of, and repair the copter. One thing's for sure: it is not for the fiscally faint-hearted! Andy.
