I saw this is for sale on the store now and wondered if anyone knew if the price includes both parts of the quick release (the toad and the hole) and if it is suitable for putting below a Cinestar. They mention cranes, jibs and car mounts but do not specifically mention a Cinestar. And if you need to be able to attach to the regular handlebars, a Cinestar and something else do you buy 3 sets or can you add on just the receiving side of the quick release system - or is this the receiving side only and we buy the Movi side separately?

I flew on Friday with the toad in the hole attached to the Cinestar. Works great. I'll get a video of it in action tomorrow if the weather permits

Great - thanks. Do you know if you get both sides of the quick release with each purchase?

Just saw this too! Wait. Do you have to have the Ninja Star to mount this to the Movi?

Also just bought two, hope they work out. I looking forward to the fig rig style grip as well, I think that will make a real difference to the usability.

Thanks Brad! Ordered a few :)

Looking forward to your video.. Would you also mind posting a few photos of the setup on the CineStar.

    Thank you.

Here are photos of how its attached to the Cinestar. The attachment bolts on the "hole" side are included for attaching to the carbon plate at the pan motor. One the "toad" side use the star plate mounting bolts to attach.

    Thanks Brad!

    Looks great..

Do you think the weight of the Epic have any effect on using this?

Do you have some sort of vibration system? I don't see it? Oh wait I think I see the blue guys??

The weight of an Epic will be no different if you mount it handheld vs on a Cinestar. At NAB, for anyone there that played with the F55 setup, it had a TITH on an M15 gimbal with heavy glass, FF, etc.

There is an adjustment bolt inside the clamp system to adjust how tightly it holds the toad. Same principle as on the MoVIs- as long as its tight there is no vibration or movement between toad and hole.

yes, blue isolation rings on this copter.

I had a good look at the Toad rig at NAB, and it's really sturdy. I have one on order and hope to use it as a quick release for my MōVI onboard my copter. I don't think there'd be an easy way of switching between handheld and aerial use, but I intend to sit and stare at it for a few minutes and see if something comes to mind.

Does the added 40mm drop cause issues with the Movi on a Cinestar, (Movi hitting the ground)?

Or any other issues on the CS like lower CG?

    Chris:
I'm not sure why it would -- it just raises the whole copter frameset 40mm -- it doesn't alter the relationship between the landing gear and the gimbal.

Maybe I'm not quite understanding your question, though...I'm having a slow Monday (and it's Wednesday, just to prove the point).

    Andy.

WOW, I'm having a bad Monday on a Wednesday! True. The copter is higher, my bad.

Any word on being able to buy additional Toads alone?
(one on the HH brackets and another on a ninja star or something)

Beyond that Toads will be available separately, nothing further heard.
    Happy Monday. :)

Hopefully, the toad will be available separately at some time.

Maybe someone can add a note to the suggestion box at the shop for me.
