Smart On Screen Display and FPV display/goggles (yeah, the FAA wants to declare goggles unlawful).

Once the copter is a few tens of feet away/up, I don't think there is a single human sense accurate enough to judge traits of the copter such as height above ground, distance (from pilot or other objects, aircraft, etc), velocity (horizontal or vertical) with any kind of accuracy.

The three possible exceptions are angular velocity (hey, it's moving left to right very fast), relative angles between the copter and reference objects close to the line of sight to the copter (it's right in line with that distant tree), and copter orientation if you can see the LEDs, or boom coloration.

I use the BlueBeam antennas too -- IBCrazy is the handle of Alex, the guy who designs them. You can also get them from dpcav.com.

READYMADE RC antennas!! I've tried them all, and found them to be the best.
