Just came across this on the Teradek site - Michael mentioned it was coming soon... How soon?! http://www.teradek.com/pages/clip
Based on the tech specs (below) and the splash page - looks like it will be able to transmit in multiple frequencies/wifi. We might see huge range out of this! H.264 Compression: Main & Baseline Video Bit Rate: 150kbps to 5mbps Built-in scaler & deinterlacer 2.4/5GHz a/b/g/n MIMO WiFi Encryption: AES128
Because you guys are awesome, here is a quick taste before the upcoming announcement (all pictures are of one of the final prototypes). If any of you are in Amsterdam for IBC, stop by our booth and say hello! We will have a CineStar 8 on display with the Clip mounted to it (and transmitting). http://imgur.com/a/gdVAB#0
$599. Range, well, lets just say you can extend it. I don't want to ruin all of the surprises just yet! Also, im happy to jump on here in the coming days to discuss, in detail, its capabilities and what we want to do with it in the future.
Sounds good, Michael. I think only "one or two" forum members might be interested! (That's British Understatement by the way.) Andy.
Indeed it is! Press release: http://www.cnbc.com/id/101028397 Im still at the RAI building our booth for IBC tomorrow so I wont be able to answer questions until later tonight. Suffice to say, range is 300ft without a router. If you add a router, range is based on how powerful your router is. We have huge plans for Clip moving on into the future. This includes integrating telemetry info and adding a number of other features I still can't discuss. For good measure, here is the brochure we are handing out at IBC: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/71340973/CLIP.pdf
