Yes, i can tune the MoVI with my Macbook,
but since i co-own this with another Seattle filmmaker, we're going to just purchase a tablet top keep in the kit such that it is always there for tuning if need be.

My question is: what is the best tablet for this purpose?
i've never even looked into this category at all.

7" would probably be fine, since its cheaper and lighter yes?

would this $150 Nexus 7 work well for this purpose?

is there anything else i should be thinking of?

That would be perfect. Proven to work. Not all Android tablets are created equal.

I got a Toshiba from Amazon.com for $99. Works fine. I don’t use it for anything other than fiddling with the M5. Battery life isn’t great. If I leave it sleeping for a few days the battery runs out, but I suspect that’s all the Google bits talking to the mother ship periodically. I’ve taken to shutting it down altogether, and that works fine.
