I'm building a cs8 heavy and mounting HF pro + HF gps I've noticed that the standard stand-off bolts are to low for fitting everything and I've added 1cm stand-off Can this be a problem mounting higher batteries? I would like to mount 2x10000 5s.. Another question... I've kw10 motors from kopterworx....I would like to use xoar 14x7...do u suggest to use longer booms...like 550mm? thank u very much
If your just using the 14x7's stay with the 450mm booms. If you plan on running larger props, such as 15inch, you need the 500mm booms. 16inch props you need the 550mm booms. If you mount the batteries higher it shouldn't be a problem. It actually will help the pendulum effect by off-setting the weight hanging under the copter. P.S. What power distro are you using? Josh
Luca what your are describing are RC car Axial Posts. You can look at these http://www.axialracing.com/products/axa1318. I found mine on eBay, various bright colors and lengths. They work great. Good looking build. What did you use for the power distribution board?
thank u very much for your suggestions I'm using this distro http://www.kopterworx.com/Latest-products-in-Shop/Power-Hungry-Distro-board-400A I don't know where to find it in US It's not easy to place it in the cs8 central space, i've had to solder the esc bullet like a L (sorry for my bad english ) and to attach it to frame I used the spacers from a pc motherboard. I'm will mount on it a Canon C100, and I would like to use and external hdd recorder...do u know if there is somewhere for sale an addon for freefly gimbal like a plate where place an hdd rec? thanks
Check with Allied Drones. They have a battery mounting plate that might work for your HDD. http://www.allieddrones.com/collect.../products/cinestar-gimbal-front-battery-plate
I think when I found them I was looking at Google for 50mm x 3mm standoffs or posts and stumbled over them. Mine are bright green and high enough that I was able to do the MK stack with the SmartOSD on top. Standard posts didn't have enough height. That issue went away with the move to putting the Navi/SmartOSD/GPS all out on the boom.
