Can anyone confirm that the Sony F55 would be able to be used with the Movi Pro?

I know you can get the weight down enough if you strip it down and use a light weight lens. Just want to know if anyone has tried it, if it fits and balances?

    Thoughts?

    Should work just fine!

We use a F55 and M15 setup all the time.

So the Pro is the same (or similar) size to the M15? I would love to get confirmation from someone who had tried with with the new Pro version before committing to buying it.

Still looking for an official answer to this question. I would love to give you my money. Can anyone from Freefly confirm F55 compatibility?

They are almost same in size. If it fits to M15, it will fit to Movi Pro as well.

I used that same build on the M15 with a V-mount on the back which was nice for counter balance. But on the Pro, if you take the battery off and the Back plate you can use a P tap to 4 pin XLR (Right Angel) you can save the weight and power off the Movi Pro Batts.

Hey Dylan, I had heard that the F55 could not be powered off of the Movi batteries. Can you power it using a D-Tap to 4-pin XLR cable as Charlie Beyer suggests?

    Hey Dan,

DTAP Out of the Power Base with XLR into the Camera works just fine. I don't have an exact run time that I could give you but since the batteries are hot swappable you could go all day.

    See you around the shop!

    Hey Dylan,

Do you know if there is difference between D-Tap and P-Tap? I just don't want to fry anything if there is. I have an upcoming project with F55s and am looking to power it off the Movi Pro.

Do you know if this cable will work?

    Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Len, D-Tap and P-Tap are the same connector -- exactly the same. Some people say P-Tap (I think it stands for Power-Tap, as used by Anton Bauer), and some people say D-Tap because the connector looks like a 'D'.

That cable should work for an F55 but it's pretty long at 28". You could shorten it if you're good at soldering, or maybe find a shorter one. You also might have to change the orientation of the right-angle XLR plug to come out of the camera the way you want.

    Here's a 20" one that's in-stock now at B&H:

    Hi,
Is there enough room to fit the Sony F55 with the axsR5 Raw recorder on the Movi M15?
    Thanks
