FPV maybe? 1500 feet it must be FPV. Who would need to fly that high and that close to an airport? Who would be that daring? reminds me of the stunt those blacksheep guys performed at the Golden Gate bridge.
Yup, this kind of activity and the Black Sheep guys and others aspiring to their feats are going to ruin it for everyone. I did enjoy the original low proximity flying in the mountains but since then it has gone too far. On the other hand did they actually see a drone? Its funny how the war on "drones" is starting to play out and we see instant examples of total support for lobbying. Funny how also this might take some heat of the gun debates....hmmmmm
The way I see it, until clear, responsible, just, fair for all, rules and laws are written, and violators know of real consequences when they mist use this technology, we will probably hear of more of this incidents
Except I am pretty sure there are already laws against what this person has done. Like gun legislation, laws only affect LAW ABIDING citizens, not those that are not going to follow them anyway.
Is it a bird is it a plane is it....an area 51 fly away ? (just kidding), the only hope from this is to hear the news reporter stating that drones will one day become common place in our day to day lives, hopefully our integration into airspace will not be further impeded by these kind of rogue assailants.
Jason so strange I just clicked on the link and was able to watch it then i went back to the link to watch it again and then i got that message ...unavailable in your location ? Sorry don,t have an alternative link...maybe it's a one time watch from my location lol
Some journalism school (I think in Missouri) is teaching drone flying for news gathering. NAB will be loaded with drones this year...more than last year. Heck, Verizon Wireless is selling the Parrot drone in their stores. As they become more common, it will affect commercial and hobby application in a bad way due to the idiots who surround us. This will be like the gun debate...only without a strong lobby. That was terrible news. jim
Just in case anyone else is thinking of taking to sky and into commercial air traffic territory ... this amazing website's live data might make you think twice ... it's very crowded up there!! Check out the US and Europe especially ... down here in South Africa the skies are a lot quieter! http://www.flightradar24.com/
This is absolutely awesome. Where are they all going. You can click on the icons and see all the flight info! Amazed at the amount of aircraft in the air at any given time.
Here is another article about the drone sighting... this one mentions Quadrocopter.com's website also. http://arstechnica.com/information-...vestigates-quadrocopter-that-buzzed-airliner/ Josh
