This past weekend the Freefly team took RED’s new 6K Dragon camera airborne during a rare Pacific Northwest snowstorm. The goal was to continue our testing of the Dragon camera and better familiarize the team with the capabilities of the new 6K camera system. The results of the test were pretty compelling! The incredible resolution and dynamic range of the Dragon, coupled with the dynamic camera moves created by the CineStar Multi-Rotor, produced some visually stunning sequences. We would like to invite you to help us spread the word about this piece with the filmmaking community. We are pretty excited about the idea of cinema cameras of this quality flying on small remote helicopters. When we started this adventure of remote aerial cinematography about a decade ago, we only dreamed of systems that could create footage like this; to be able to have it in hand is a dream come true! The remote shutter will be this or a variation of it http://www.quadrocopter.com/RC-Shutter-Switch_p_595.html
Chris, huh? Sorry I don't get your comment. Must have missed a different meaning for the word 'dope'.
would you mind sharing where you sourced the components ? I am mainly thinking about the power setup ..
Jasper the power is a MoVI 4S battery to a LEMO connector. The HDMI is a FreeFly board that is no longer being sold. I am guessing that the 5V step down to power the HDMI is something like the BEC from Castle Creations. Lastly the trigger is perhaps something like the trigger from Quadrocopter http://www.quadrocopter.com/Shuttercable-N3_p_932.html, though this is probably not the exact one. There are many sources of camera triggers. Wiring is all custom made.
Here is a slick little cable from GentLED for video start/stop (Futaba only) which I'm not sure is compatible with the Dragon, but it does list Epic/Scarlet: http://www.gentles.ltd.uk/gentwire/red.htm Greetings, Adam
awesome thanks for the replies. I just posted a question on another topic about the video downlink. How are they getting feed on this setup? I understand HDMI into the converter .. but then what ?
From the converter into an analog transmitter... And then sent to a receiver on the ground. Lots of different options for this type of transmitter. Iftron, lawmate, mondo stinger ... Are just a couple of the options available.
Thanks Chris! I have a 5.8gHz, 600mw immersion tx .. always have troubles hooking up the av wires to the small ports though.
Amazing staff, its so beautiful.. however its so expensive.. ___________________________- edit: it seems like there is no one. I like websites about energy drink - my hobby is to collect energy drinks brands especially soft drink brands
