[September 13, 2018: I've updated the title to take into account the second post.]

Last week, Sennheiser uploaded a seven minute film to its YouTube channel called Final Stop which was shot with a smartphone and its binaural recorder Ambeo Smart Headset. There are also three behind the scenes videos on how the film was made.

One thing that I noted is that the filmmakers were careful to avoid sounds from sources that don't fit with what can be seen. This tends to be a problem when binaural sound is recorded on city streets. The film also presents interesting issues about whose perspective a sound is being heard from.

At least one participant in this forum - John Chu - has uploaded videos to his YouTube channel using the Ambeo Smart Headset.

Here is the film. You do need to be wearing headphones for the binaural sound to work. Stereo speakers won't cut it.

Film Riot has uploaded its own video on how Final Stop was made. Apparently the Final Stop crew used a Movi (see 01:58), and Film Riot says that it will be doing a review shortly.

Behind the scenes is 00:00 to 02:16 and 05:16 to 06:06. The middle section of the video is about Sennheiser's Ambeo Smart Headset.
