Jim I remember your video from a while back. Another suggestion for Zach, be there at sunrise. Spectacular colors and much less crowds.

Jim: Do you have a press pass? Or did you shoot this (great!) footage as a private individual? Just curious as to whether have a press pass might avoid you being chased off?

    Andy.

Thank you all for the kind words.
Andy, Great question. When I shoot in the city I always wear my station jacket and have my ID at the ready. Still, I recently had to talk my way out of a $1000 fine from the National Park Police for flying on Federal lands without a permit. Very scary.
This is my own Hexacopter not the Stations.
Most of the footage was shot as an individual but every so often I put an Aerial Montage piece together for our local newscast. I've also shot Mercedes commercials, Golf Courses, and wineries for my Station Production Department...which I run.:D
Even with nice results, I still consider this flying for fun. Maybe someday I'll be able to spend more time developing this as a business like many of you already do.

I think I'll try: "You stole this land from [insert name of Native American tribe], and I do not acknowledge your ownership of it."
I'll let you all know how that works out.

Had someone try that on our property. Just so happens it was lunch time and the police come around regularly to eat and kindly told them to leave and use the public access to get to the beach.
