RF meter

    Anyone out there use one? Have one they recommend? Are they even worth owning? I imagine rf on the ground may be quite different than where the heli may go.

    I've used an RF meter, Nick and can confirm that, using one on the ground, tells you too much information of the wrong kind about the wrong place!

    You really do need to know the airborne environment and that can be very different from the ground-based environment. Mind you, you can get a general idea of the 2.4Ghz band using the data available in the Graupner Tx displays -- if you happen to have one of those. And that information you can get when the copter is airborne.

    Other Tx might also display the general signal quality but I don't recall offhand.
