    Hi guys

I just made a Custom RED monitor soft cable through Movi rig tilt Axis. The cable was not easy to make, by hand. I basically got the lemo Singapore folks to help me with this. Here are the pictures. I am really happy with this setup. I get to get full control and have access to playback, plus not worry about batteries for a monitor.

Norbert, did you happen to take any pics while you were doing this? Could you upload a pic of your final cable and setup?

wow norbert, that cable is thin! Time to get that cable and rewire it, through the rig.
I would love to see your modded wire too.

    Yes...No!
    I knew this to come.
It's well thought. I am running different cameras on the Mōvi and once the cable is put through the axis it could not be removed.
(And... to strip it down i did not remove the plugs - I hate soldering!!)

Nice! Did the same thing with my 4' red touch screen cable a few weeks ago. Vastly improves the flex in it!

Hi Charles, can you say where did you order your cable? The brushless gimbal one is out of stock right now. Thanx a lot!

We are on custom loom for the Epic now. But I have found the best results are to not mount a Red LCD at all. I just monitor and transmit through the SDI and we plug in the touch for playback or camera adjustments.

We seem to be doing a lot of run and gun style shooting and I think that the option of having the Red LCD on the bars would provide a good solution then constantly plugging it in and adjusting. Are there any other cabling solutions you guys have found? are there no long flexible cables available for purchase?

I got Tom of Alpine-Electronics.com to make me a very flexible and lightweight 2' Red Touch LCD cable. Expensive, but well built.
Try Julie@alpine-electronics.com or Tom at tom@ruppert-sales.com

The Redmote is a good solution if your assistant is familiar with it.

I have tried some of the lightweight epic touch cables, various success with them. Some DOA…

Any cables attached to the rig affect the performance, and I am currently getting the best results with just a super flexi sdi, power, and Axis 1 power all in the same loom.

We removed all rubber and casing to wires too, but now it won't work.... Was the wire mesh sleeve supposed to stay? the tin foil too?
