    Hi,

Does anyone out there have any experience recording to the Atomos Shogun from the Connex? I'm trying to find out if the image quality is good enough to record. I'd love to use the connex to get a longer range wireless signal, but I'm unsure of the quality.

We are currently using a teradek bolt. Can anyone offer a comparison between the image quality of that and the connex?

I hae learned the signal from the connex is compressed and I question the value of a compressed signal recording to the much less compressed Pro Res. Can anyone speak to this?

    Thanks,

    Ned

If you use extended range mode on connex, the quality is nowhere of uncompressed feed quality, such as Teradk Bolt.

The image quality of connex is just for having a reference. It is not usable in the production of environment. But, if you use quality mode, maybe it can work for live feed but again not for editing purposes. Uncompressed video systems has much much much better video quality.
