Euh, no, I was asking about a Radian upgrade.
I just realized that....and edited my response.
1.03 is the current version last released by Freefly.
Yes, that's what I say: this product is getting dead .............
You don't think it may be improved ...... a bit, a lot?
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "getting dead." Are you having problems with it? Or are you saying that it has been a while since it was last upgraded therefore there should be a new version?
If it's the second thing: there should be a new version, I'm afraid that's up to Freefly, not me (or any of the other moderators). We are volunteers and do not work for Freefly.
I don't really have problemes with my Radians but I am sure it's possible to improve it.
I think that's could be better with Roll tuning and I don't like the way we can move the tilt with the radio, I prefer a angle for a value.
Also I was thinking may be you know Freefly projects if they are working on new version for example.
I do know that Tabb and other Freefly folks read the forum, but beyond that I don't know about Freefly projects I'm afraid.
Sorry I cannot be of more help.
I'm back in that old situation again when trying to update the firmware from 34-99. I had an issue with my pan slew and tilt slew every now and again would go dead on me. So Ive put the RADIANs in Bootloader mode and started to write the latest firmware from freeflys website (37-99) the update failed and now Im stuck with the radians in bootloader mode. When reading the radians I get the serial numbers but when I program new firmware it just comes up with Program Error.
John C came up trumps with a solution some time ago but now Im stuck again so any assistance would be gratefully appreciated. I just don't understand why this keeps happening. Its most frustrating.
All the best
If you click 'connect to target' immediately after it fails to program, what error message do you see ?.
While you have it connected up, can you tell me what numbers are in the serial number box ?.
Hi John hope your well.
The Error is SerialNo Mismatch
PAN RADIAN is 010A-0EDC:000000
ROLL Is 010A-0F21:000000
Tilt is 010A-0FC4:000000
Have I miss read then and cocked it up myself LOL
They must be brand spanking new ones. Freefly must be a bit busy to keep the website versions current for the latest serial numbers.
This one should do it.
Thanks John your a star. That's done the job. I don't want to keep you on but any thoughts on tilt and slew locking up? Its a spektrum setup. And If I may make a suggestion is it possible for the bootloader to not only display the Current version number but also the revision? So I don't make this mistake again.
Last question. Some clients would like the option to have just tilt then flick a switch and have both tilt and pan. Is this possible
Anyway I cant thank you enough.
My very best regards
Andrew you already have the tilt only and then tilt/pan. The 3 way switch for mode is off, stablized tilt/roll with tilt control and finally stabilized tilt/roll with tilt and pan control.
edit mode 1, middle, doesn't have tilt. Typo from my iPad.
Hi Gary. I can? At the moment, using a spektrum setup, I have a 3 position switch 0=Off 1=Passive (Stabilized tilt/roll) and 2=Slew (Pan & Tilt) How do I get position 1 to also have slew on the tilt. This would be fantastic.
All the best
Check the values on your TX which should have a screen showing servo deflection. 0 should be a - 127, mid should be centered and full on should be +127. You should see the same thing happen if you are hooked up to the Radian config software.
Thanks Gary I will give it a go.
Have you read this thread from Tab? You might have better luck following these directions as outlined.
Does upgrading the firmware actually make the radian any smoother or steady?
I ask because I have learned in this business firmware updates can wreck your day.
Did you check Message #1 in this thread -- it's where the Radian's designer identifies the principle changes. I don't recall "smoother or steadier" featuring that list, though.
Stupid Q: How do I figure out which Firmware version I'm running?
My Radian Manager is 1.10, but I don't see the firmware version?
