I watched this long flight of the FS 700 posted on Quadrocopter:

Anyone know what motor they are using?

I would like to upgrade my cine 8 to be a HL (carry epic, scarlet) but not sure about the best motors for 4s lipos.....have 12 of them and down want to buy 5s yet.
I see that people are using the tigers but generally have to go to a 5s system or is there a tiger motor that is powerful with 4s

Devin those are some test motors that Jeff is testing for Freefly with the Synapse controller.

Interesting, unfortunately I do not have the patience to wait for the full release....they seem to be quite busy with MOVI....Definitely will be buying synaps when it comes out!
Would love a motor suggestion that I could use in the next couple weeks :) with a 4s system for any of those building a bigger HL

Devin I believe most heavy lifters are using 6S now. 4S isn't going to cut it.

Well the video above shows them using a 4s system with an fs 700 for a long ass flight......
I'm guessing fs is stripped down with a light lens but it would be interesting to know what those motors are and when we can buy :)

Devin they were custom built test motors so you wouldn't find them for sale. Closest thing would be the Tiger 4006-13 740KV. But if you are looking for heavy lift and are going to buy motors then you might want to really consider switching to 6S.

    OK, thanks guys!
I just figured that if they were testing the new heavy lift with the MOVI and with a heavy camera on a 4s lipo sytem that then there would be a good option out there....when I plug Tiger 4006-13 740KV into ecalc it dosnt cut it.

That's why you need to change to 6S.

I dont think you guys are picking up what I am saying...
In the video they are using their new HL Cine 8, with MOVI and two 4S battery pack......thats right 4S with their "New" motors.....
why test new motors on a 4s system and post if thats not what they are going to use

Important to note that the MK BL's really can't handle 6S. It's not that it won't start up but when you start drawing large amounts of current under heavy loads it will most likely pop a MK BL rather easily. They are only made to handle 40 amp peaks.

Just out of curiosity how do you know they are 4S batteries?

Maybe they are runnng them in series for 8S? I bet the new synapse can run all type of battery types.

Devin it is a test platform for testing purposes. The HL was going to be offered in two versions, 4s and 6s. Freefly decided that it will now be 6s only. So the copter in the video is a test rig and is not the final product.

I have the same motors. Without the Synapse and a total of 8.6kg I am maxed out with a D800. I get similar flight times but am not happy with the amount of throttle required.

    Hello,

Yes, this is a proto type kopter from Freefly we have been flying for about 8mos. now. It is a 4S system with 2x 8Ah lipos (totaling 16Ah) with a 4S version of Freefly motor. We've been informed that the final version of Freefly motor (called F45) will be a 6S motor.

    Greetings,
    Adam

Ikarus profile.jpg Howdoo, we have had heavy lift Cinestar systems successfully flying out in the field for 8 weeks @ heliguy.com
6s is imperative, and we are getting 16+ minutes with a RED and 30+mins with Canon-ish camera's, we use 10000MAh 6S x 2, this is the future....
