    Hi,
I have a bunch of old lipo batteries that are no longer in service for flight, but I thought I could use them out in the field to power my charger in order to charge my flight packs.
Is this a dumb idea, or is this something people do?
    Cheers,
    Alex

It's not a dumb idea as long as you don't tell the charger where the electrons are coming from. :)

Seriously, that's perfectly viable, but it will mean that you have to charge up the removed-from-service LiPo's back at the studio -- so be sure to put them in LiPo bags just in case.

    Andy.
