I ended up re-threading the rod to 1/4-20 and cutting it down to improve the clearance. I disposed of the big wing handle and used a thumb screw from the Glidecam to reduce the possibility of over tightening. Neither the Manfrotto micro clamp or this one are ideal, but they get the job done. Weight is the same for both at 4oz so there is certainly room for them to be lighter. Mike
