Thats more of an issue with the operator holding the rig. He needs to know what the shot is and to keep the handles out of the shot. You can also flip the handles if it continues to be a problem.
I guess I'm not following you correctly. If pan had a max on it you'd miss the shot because it would hit a stop. If your op doesn't get out of the way you miss the shot because of a hand. Sounds like Majestic Pan would be the only way for that to work. But if your op can't keep his handle out of the shot then I don't see him framing in Majestic Pan very well either. It may just take some practice and a heads up operator.
Hey Justin...This was actually brought up in the training we had a few weeks ago, not specifically setting a limit, but if memory serves me correctly, it was part of a discussion about really needing the MoVI operator and the transmitter operator to work closely and have enough experience together and with the equipment to prevent the handles from entering the shot as systemic solutions (like putting an automated stop or limit on it) would be "too" limiting.
I 100% get the new dance I'm having to learn. I just think it would be nice to have if you find yourself with an operator that might not be good at the dance yet. You can always turn it off.
